Alina Frieske

Alina's work is at the intersection between photography and painting. She uses research tools such as Google Images to find her photographic material from the algorithm in place. Her projects investigate the value and accessibility of visual information online. Fragments of images taken from social media platforms are reconstructed into new scenarios. Thereby, the original meaning of the images is put into another context.

Her works are included in the collections of Photo Elysée in Lausanne, Switzerland and Villa Noailles in Hyères, France. She won the ING Talent Award in 2021 and the Stiftungspreis Alison and Peter Klein Stiftung in 2023.
