Alina Frieske’s practice evolves at the intersection of photography and painting, wherein she studies the relationship between public and private self. Using collage, she explores the multiplicity of information stored as part of what constitute our virtual identities.

Based on the photographic material in the instagram account of one person, Alina created a series of new unintended portraits, combining fragments of her photographs into an imagined form. The portraits explore the discourse between our real and our digital identity.
